About
My name is Tom and I am a 20 year old Applied Biology student at the HAS University of Applied Sciences. I am in the third year of my bachelor and I am currently doing an internship here at the Adams Lab for the duration of five months. I did several studies in the first two years of my bachelor and in my second year I did a research into diseases in pigs in collaboration with the farm Den Elshorst and the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. After this I wanted to do something different and that is why I am doing my internship here at the Adams Lab
Now for my internship I am researching cfDNA in relation to neurodegenerative diseases like Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease and in relation to stroke. I am trying to find out which methods that determine the amount of cell free DNA are preferred with the samples of these diseases. A part of this research will be done by a literature study and the other part will be done in the laboratory.
